Kuuma Vapor-Fire Wood Gasification Furnaces

Well it's all about safety, high efficiency, and enhancing our environment when it comes to burning wood using a Kuuma Vapor-Fire Wood Gasification Furnace. "Smokeless" burns say it all...

Burning wood is fairly easy, except for the work involved. Paper, kindling, a little firewood, a match, and away you go. But, hold on...to burn wood so that the dreaded and dangerous creosote isn't formed and pollution is curtailed, is quite another story!

Creosote is the highly flammable, sticky substance that all wood possesses and produces extremely high temperatures when it ignites. The chimney fires that can result may cause homes to burn and lives to be lost. It's very dangerous. The air pollution that results from an inefficient wood furnace worsens the air we breathe, which is a huge health concern.

The only real answer in eliminating both the creosote and the pollution is to eliminate the smoke. In simple terms, "NO SMOKE MEANS NO CREOSOTE AND NO POLLUTION." Again, easily said, but hard to do.

We designed both the Kuuma Vapor-Fire 100 and Kuuma Vapor-Fire 200 furnaces to eliminate wood smoke. This gets rid of the creosote and air pollution at the same time. If there ever was a GREEN product, the Vapor-Fires are that. They make wood burning safe and more environmentally and operator friendly. They burn wood up to 99% of each burn, "Smokeless". Less than 1 gram per hour of emissions are produced to enhance and not harm our environment. The burn is controlled automatically by simply turning the knob on its unique 24 volt computer for the level of burn you desire. This eliminates the guess work involved in safely and cleanly burning wood. The 24 volt computer does it automatically for you, start to finish.

Q-How are liking your Kuuma Dan?

A-We are loving it. My father is very surprised by how long it throws heat on a single load of wood. I think you'll be selling another unit to him in the near futue. We've been running it full-time, until two days ago when we only did a small fire each day. However, it is getting cold out again and is supposed to go below zero, yet again... so I'm going to turn the temperature control back up and load it right up. We are heating 6,500 Sq ft house with 9 foot ceilings, up and down, and we keep the house between 70-72 with the Kuuma. In the very cold weather we've had this winter (especially the last month), that's a full load in the morning, a small load around dinner time, and then a full load before bed. That's very efficient, and my chimney is very clean. Thanks for a great product.

Kuuma Vapor-Fire 100

The Kuuma Vapor-Fire 100 is our largest Vapor-Fire furnace. The wood length is approximately 20" and requires seasoned wood that has an 18-28% moisture content. It has a large 2-speed blower that delivers 500 to 1500 CFM (cublic feet per minute) on demand, controlled by a thermostat. It can stand alone as a central furnace, or be used as an add-on to an existing oil, gas, or electric furnace. The bonnet opening is 2'x2' and your heat duct outlet should be 180-200 square inches to prevent excess back pressure on the blower system. It gives you a clean, safe, and automatic front to back burn that delivers very even heat for 10-12 hours per load followed by many hours of coals. Even heat output results from the front to back burn principle in our VaporFires. It heats approximately 3500 square feet.

Kuuma Vapor-Fire 200

The Kuuma Vapor-Fire 200 is our smaller Vapor-Fire furnace. The wood length is approximately 16" and requires seasoned wood that has an 18-28% moisture content. It has a single speed fan with approximately 450 CFM (cubic feet per minute). It is used basically as an add-on to your existing oil, gas, or electric furnace. It has an 8" round heat outlet. Some people have it stand alone in an area where no duct work or other furnace is available to connect into. It gives you a clean, safe, and automatic front to back burn that delivers very even heat for 8-10 hours per load followed by many hours of coals. Even heat results from the front to back burn principle in our VaporFire furnaces. It heats approximately 3,000 square feet.

How does the burning of firewood compare to other fuel costs when using a Kuuma Vapor-Fire Wood Gasification Furnace?

"I have a 3200 square foot home and usually buy 5 cords of birch and maple wood a year. The cost is $75 - $100 per logger's cord and I cut and split it myself. My total cost then is about $500 per year or less and this is approximately 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of using another fuel such as gas, oil or electricity. The heat is much more constant using wood, that's why I like it. Our backup heat is electric baseboard." says Lamppa Manufacturing Incorporated Owner Daryl Lamppa
