GASIFICATION WOOD FURNACES
Our vapor-fire gasification wood furnaces are smokeless up 95% of the time!

What is Gasification?
The process of thermal degradation is called pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is the chemical
break-up induced by high temperatures in the absence of Oxygen. The terms “carbonization,”
”gasification,” and ‘distillation” are also used to define this process. The
gasification process occurs inside every piece of wood in all fires before oxygen is
available. The smoke that is produced from burning wood is the result of gasification
and can be captured and ignited in a proper environment. With the known energy
contents of dry wood 8600 BTU it is estimated that in typical wood fires between
one-third and two-thirds of the energy content of wood is in gases and vapors.
Our Kuuma wood burning furnaces have been tested through the coldest Northern Minnesota winters and has proven it can heat an average insulated home of up to 21,000 cu. ft.  With our unique and simple manual draft control, you can regulate the output up to 85,000 BTU per hour.  Our unit has been tested by PFS Laboratories.  PFS Corporation is a third party inspection and testing agency which assists the wood-related construction industry in achieving greater quality and safety. PFS evaluates and certifies a broad range of products and structures, including all types of Engineered Wood Products, wood components and industrialized building systems.

When deciding to purchase a wood burning furnace compare our Vapor Fire furnace construction and thickness of the metal and types of metal used to other furnaces. Consider stack temperature compared to others. Seriously consider the following:

 1) It burns smokeless up to 95% of it’s burn cycle. When there isn’t any visible smoke it means that there isn’t any buildup of creosote in the pipes and chimney. NO SMOKE MEANS NO CREOSOTE ACCUMULATION.

 2) The furnace has a unique computerized controlled burn. This adjustable computerized control monitors the fire and allows the fire to burn the logs under a controlled rate from the front to back . This controlled burn results in the gradual release of the volatile gases, which in turn burns them and  the coals at a controlled rate. Due to this you are able to get a nice lengthy burn cycle. Other stoves which release the volatile  gases rapidly, resulting in a raging hot fire, burns up the fuel  quickly. About 2/3’s of the heat value in wood is in the volatile gases and liquids therefore when the gases are rapidly driven out of the wood and not burned, the only thing left is the hot coals which doesn’t give off the kind of intense heat needed to heat  a home.

The ability to burn the logs from the front to back, flattens out the heat curve which illustrates the fact that you get a  more constant rate and a longer burn cycle. This can result in getting a 6-10 hour burn which is very difficult to do with ordinary stoves.

3)The computer is designed so that the furance burns the volatile gases in it’s “sweet zone”.

The fire is set at a temperature high enough to burn the creosote producing material, which results in a very little accumulation of creosote in your chimney. The burn temperatures are automatic depending on where the owner sets the knob on the control box. The only accumulation of any residue in the chimney is soot that can be brushed off very easily, if necessary.

4)The fire chamber is constructed of extremely high quality materials for safety.

Ÿ          There are 2-tiers of fire bricks on both left and right sides on the interior of the fire chamber all the way up to the ceiling.

Ÿ         Behind the fire brick there is also a high temperature ceramic insulation lining.

Ÿ         Brick retainers are made of stainless steel plus stainless steel sheets on the ceiling, back and front primary air distributor.

Ÿ         The removable grates are ¾” thick made of  cast iron.

Ÿ         The fuel loading door is also internally insulated to reduce the possibility of it warping and has adjustable hinges and door latch.

Ÿ         The ash pan door has also adjustable hinges and door latch.

5)The furnace is designed and made with safety, durability and easy of operation foremost in mind. It burns the wood clean and extracts the most of the available heat for a long sustained comfortable heat for the home.

 6) High efficiency burn

At almost 95% of the time burns with no visible smoke we call it a “SMOKELESS BURN” . The internal exhaust stack has very low temperature varying from 150F to 250F

Prices could change due to increased cost of material. Crating cost is $50.00
